Scholarship Program

Purpose

The Chris Tucker Foundation Scholarship Program is designed to support deserving students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, community service, resilience, and financial need. The scholarship reflects the Foundation’s commitment to empowering the next generation through education while encouraging recipients to give back to their communities.

Proposed Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a graduating high school senior or a currently enrolled college student.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may be considered if they submit a written explanation describing extenuating circumstances or personal hardships that impacted their academic performance.
  • Be accepted to or currently enrolled in an accredited:

      • Four-year college or university
      • Two-year college
      • Technical college
      • Trade or vocational school
  • Demonstrate financial need through a FAFSA Student Aid Index (SAI) or a written explanation of financial circumstances.
  • Complete a minimum of 20 hours of documented community service within the past two years.
  • Have no felony convictions.
  • Submit a completed application and all required supporting documentation by the established deadline.
  • Required Application Materials

    Applicants must provide the following:

  • Completed scholarship application
  • Official high school or college transcript
  • College acceptance letter or proof of current enrollment
  • Current résumé
  • Two letters of recommendation:

      • One from a teacher, professor, or school counselor
      • One from a community leader, employer, pastor, coach, or mentor
  • Community service verification documentation
  • FAFSA Student Aid Report (recommended for applicants demonstrating financial need)

  • Scholarship Recipient Expectations

    Recipients of the Chris Tucker Foundation Scholarship will be expected to uphold the values of the Foundation throughout their educational journey. Scholarship recipients agree to:

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.75.
  • Complete at least 20 hours of community service each academic year while receiving scholarship support.
  • Volunteer at least one Chris Tucker Foundation event, if requested.
  • Submit a brief annual progress report highlighting academic achievements, personal growth, and community involvement.
